Description The FiderisTM Gas Mixing System provides one oxidant and the blending of five fuels for reactant gas delivery to your fuel cell system. To provide the most accurate flow control, the pressure of the reactant gases on the inlet and the outlet of the mass flow controllers are regulated using precision forward pressure and backpressure regulators. Individual reactant gas purge lines allows the purge gas to be tailored to each side of the fuel cell and individual control of the purge provides maximum flexibility to the researcher. Finally, to provide the ultimate in control and safety, all reactant gas lines are provided with high quality valves on the inlet of each mass flow controller. Reactant gas sampling ports allow the operator to connect the Gas Mixing System to additional equipment for gas analysis.

As is expected from Fideris Incorporated, safety is addressed in every aspect of the design of the Gas Mixing Unit. For each gas channel an inlet pressure switch and mass flow controller inlet pressure gauge show the system and indicate to the control software that the sufficient reactant gas input is available. Pressure gauges on the mass flow controller discharge and on the exit manifolds provide a familiar and intuitive display of the status of the system to the operator. Non-adjustable, reactant gas overpressure switches provide for hardware shutdown should the reactant gas exit pressure exceed a specified limit. Additional hardware stops include a front panel emergency stop button, software trigger of the hardware emergency stop, and two external emergency stop inputs available to the user through the back panel. While both external emergency stop inputs can be used as desired, one is intended to interlock with FiderisTM Tail Gas Module to stop the flow of reactant gas to the fuel cell should the temperature of the tail gas exceed a user defined limit. Also available on the back panel is an electrically isolated hardware emergency stop output for connection to additional equipment such as a monitoring station, alarm, etc. Optional internal ambient gas detectors for combustible gas and/or toxic gas are available to provide early detection of hazardous conditions.
